Raffertys Coastal Run is just around the corner and we hope you are all as keen as we are to get out and hit the trails.
As we are sure all runners are aware, the situation regarding COVID-19 in Sydney is changing daily. Please be assured that our team is monitoring the situation closely and consulting with the relevant local authorities to make sure the event can take place as planned. With the situation as it is, we are confident we will be able to run the event on Saturday week.
We have a detailed COVID-19 Safety Plan in place for this event to ensure we comply with all current guidelines and recommendations. To further enhance these protections we have decided to make a few changes to the event schedule – we hope this gives all our runners the confidence to attend the event. We have made some adjustments to the race starting times to reduce potential gathering at the Event Centre. The new race start times are as follows:
36km – 8:30am
22km – 9:30am
12km – 10:30am
Kids Run – 11:00am
With most runners already receiving their race bibs via post (which means if you have received your race bib there is no need to attend registration) this will help prevent crowds forming at registration and at the start line. Further to this all runners will be required to wear a mask before and after their run. Your mask should be on up until you cross the start line and put back on as soon as possible post-event.
Unfortunately, to help prevent crowding at the Event Centre the presentation will not take place after the event on race day, We apologise in advance to all the podium finishers in this case. We will contact you to mail out your prizes after the race.
Finally, please make sure you check in via the provided QR codes at the venue when you arrive for your event, COVID Check In signs will be prominently displayed at the entrances to the Event Centre.
At this point in time the current Public Health Order restricting travel expires on the 1st of July, meaning everyone will be able to attend as planned. Of course, this Public Health order could be extended or superseded between now and the event so please keep an eye open for any developments. If there are any changes impacting this event we will communicate this to you as soon as possible.
If travel restrictions are extended into the race weekend for areas of Sydney or further afield, we ask that you respect those restrictions and do not attend the event. Full transfers of race entries will be available for any runners that reside in areas subject to travel restrictions on race weekend.
While runners from interstate are currently free to travel to NSW and to the event we understand you might face difficulties returning home due to state border closures. If you are travelling from interstate and now cannot attend please email us so we can work something out for you.
Stay safe, wear a mask, practice good physical distancing and we look forward to seeing you all next weekend at Raffertys Coastal Run 2021.
